When a fire shutter is installed in Shenzhen, it must pass inspection. Here's what inspectors look at.
1. Documentation Review
Product certification, fire rating test report, factory inspection report, installation records. All must be present and valid. The fire rating must match the design specification.
2. Visual Inspection
The curtain surface should be flat and clean. Welds should be uniform, no missing welds. Coating should be even, no exposed metal. The housing and guide rails should be installed plumb and level. No visible damage.
3. Functional Testing
Run the door up and down several times. It should move smoothly, no abnormal noise. Manual chain operation should work with reasonable effort, under 260 N. Simulate a fire alarm and confirm automatic descent. On evacuation routes, verify two-step descent with pause.
4. Fire Performance
Check gaps between slats and between curtain and guide rails. Back-face temperature rise under fire conditions should be within limits, verified by test report. Smoke leakage for smoke-control rated doors should be under 0.2 cubic meters per square meter per minute.
5. Electrical System
Control box should respond to all commands. Buttons on both sides should work. Signal feedback to fire control panel should be verified. Backup power should function. The fusible link device should release at the specified temperature.
6. Safety Features
Obstacle detection, if installed, should reverse the door on contact. Emergency stop button should halt all movement. Manual quick release should allow operation without power.
7. Accessories
Guide rails should be firmly anchored, spacing within tolerance. The bottom beam should contact the floor evenly. The housing should be properly supported. All hardware should be tight.
Acceptance means the door is ready to protect the building. Don't rush through it.
