Before buying an industrial roller shutter, know what it is, its types, and its advantages.

Many find industrial shutters unfamiliar, but they come in several types with real advantages. Here’s the rundown from RHidoor.

  1. What is an industrial roller shutter?
Common in factories, workshops, and warehouses: durable, solid, fast to start, and quiet. Motor-driven, with a manual backup if power fails. Transparent, good-looking, safe, and light-friendly, with good operation. Versus other lift doors it saves interior space and installs easier, and bounces back without deforming after a light bump.

  2. Types and advantages
    a. High-speed shutter: made of PVC soft curtain; auto open/close is fast and efficient. Wind-proof, sound-proof, odor-proof, dust-proof, and light-transmitting. Used in food, textile, printing, precision machinery, and other indoor settings. Meets high-performance logistics, saves energy, and improves AC efficiency. But it can’t be an outdoor door (no theft resistance), so its use is limited.
    b. Aluminum alloy shutter: common because it performs better and reaches further. Resists rust, corrosion, and impact. Solid, good-looking, and theft-resistant, so safer.

  3. Advantages
    a. Powder-coated, pretty and bright, resists scratches and rain, durable. The largest now reach 65–70 m², wind resistance up to level 10, keeping the door safe.
    b. Second-roll-shaft safety design and tooth-hook design tighten slat joints, cutting gaps, noise, and wear.
    c. Auto-balance structure cuts noise from door-rail collision, protects the motor, and extends its life.
    d. Wireless remote control, works within 30 m unobstructed.
